After tough training sessions at the Uprising Beach Resort, team captain Osea Kolinisau, Jasa Veremalua, Masivesi Dakuwaqa, Nemani Nagusa and Emosi Mulevoro relaxed with their families at the resort before flying out tomorrow for the World Sevens Series in Paris and London.

Dive Wananavu staff Simeli Rokoseu said the players checked in on Saturday and departed for Suva on Sunday.

“I took them out diving and they enjoyed themselves,” Rokoseu said.

Wananavu is a perfect place for our heroes to relax before they defend the World Sevens Series in Paris-London next weekend. I’m sure they will make Fiji proud again.”

Meanwhile, the team attended the opening ceremony of the Handy Finance Volleyball Championship at the Vodafone Arena yesterday.

Part of the gate takings from the opening day will go towards the Vodafone Fiji 7s team preparation for the Rio Olympics in August.

“What the volleyball family has done basically surprised us,” team manager Ropate Kauvesi said.

“Financial constraints is felt by everyone and for Oceania Volleyball to think of us and willing to help us out, we are very thankful and gracious in what they are trying to achieve.

“It will be a huge boost for the boys knowing that they have other sports federations backing them up as we prepare for Rio.”

The Vodafone Fiji 7s team are in Pool B with Samoa, Scotland and Wales in Paris.
